Morgantown Curling Club was started by community donations. These donations helped our club rent all the necessary equipment to start teaching beginners how to play. With continued support, we hope to one day purchase our own stones and equipment.

The sport of curling is not a cheap game to play. Most granite curling stones come from one island off the coast of Scotland. They range in price from $400 (refurbished) to $500 per new stone. It takes 16 stones to play a game. Most curling clubs have 4 sheets (or games) of stones. Do some quick multiplication and you'll discover a new club needs over $25,000 just in granite stones. There are also brooms, hacks, sliders, cones for lanes, and the equipment used to prepare the ice for game play.
